A mobile home fire earlier this week in northwest Lincoln that left a woman dead been declared an accident. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says 66-year-old Rose Swanson was smoking in bed while using an oxygen tank.
That helped fuel the fire and Swanson was not able to get out of the house near NW 6th and Gaslight Lane. Firefighters rescued six cats, including one that was found in a closet. The home was valued at $100,000 and is a total loss
Lierman says the fire also destroyed about $25,000 worth of contents.
