Kansas City architectural firm ‘Populous Holdings, Inc.’ will collaborate with local firm ‘Clark & Enersen’ to design Lincoln’s Downtown Convention Center, as announced today by Assemble Lincoln, Lancaster County’s standing committee overseeing the project’s development.
Following a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Conceptual Design services on February 8, Assemble Lincoln selected Populous and Clark & Enersen out of the four architectural companies that applied.
The two companies “presented a compelling vision for the convention center that resonated with the committee’s objectives and outlook for the project,” said the press release. Senator Eliot Bostar, Chair of Assemble Lincoln, also cosigned the team.
“We are delighted with the caliber of all four respondent teams, reflecting both local talent and national expertise in convention center design,” Bostar stated. “Populous and Clark & Enersen’s appointment reaffirms the significance of this project and underscores its appeal to top-tier design firms.”
The selection of Populous – Clark & Enersen is a newest milestone in the development process. Next, Assemble Lincoln, the architectural team, partnering developer Legends will refine conceptual designs and narrow down site selection.
A public introduction of the selected architecture team will occur in May.
