An illegally parked car caught the attention of Lincoln Police Thursday afternoon and led to a woman’s arrest.

Captain Todd Kocian says when officers noticed the vehicle in the area of 12th and Claremont, a license plate number search reveled that the car had been reported stolen just the day before from a residence near 52nd and Benton Street.

As an additional officer arrived, 27-year-old Brandy Finch emerged from the drivers side and attempted to flee. Following a brief pursuit on foot, officers were able to apprehend Finch, who initially provided a false name.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a purse containing 10 oxycodone pills, leading to Finch’s arrest on charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Impersonation, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing a Police Officer. The stolen car was recovered by authorities.
