By Tom Stanton Mar 27, 2024 | 12:15 PM

Lincoln Police arrested a man after he tried breaking into a home near 27th and B Street around 12:40 Wednesday morning.  “The victim reported an unknown person was trying to break into the back door,” says Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.

When officers arrived they noticed new damage to the back door. “An officer located 44-year-old Noah Yankton of Lincoln walking through a nearby alley,” Thomas says. “After a short foot chase, Yankton was taken into custody, despite attempting to resist.”

During the arrest officers found five bottles of alcohol valued at $75 in a bag.  Thomas says they learned that Yankton stole the booze after breaking into a vacant house next door.  The damage to both homes is estimated at $300.

Yankton was arrested for burglary, attempted burglary and resisting arrest.
