Nebraska volleyball is set to return to central Nebraska for their next spring match.
After going to Central City last year, the Huskers will head to Kearney High School to take on Denver on May 4 this year. NU played a spring match at KHS in 2017.
KHS athletic director Ryan Hogue says the seed was planted a year ago for a return to Kearney.
“But they went to Central City,” Hogue said. “This year it worked out. We’re gonna see a lot of red in the Bearcat gym and this is the one time I’m OK with that.”
Tickets will go on sale April 2 in person at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. Tickets are cash only, $12 for general admission and $32 for courtside seating.
Hogue says the last time tickets were sold there for the match at Kearney High, they were sold out in 28 minutes.
The trip back to Kearney continues Nebraska’s tradition of touring the state for spring volleyball matches. Since 2007, Nebraska has played spring matches in North Platte, Scottsbluff, Grand Island, Norfolk, Wayne, Ogallala, Kearney and McCook.
