Lincoln Police stopped a vehicle shortly after midnight near 62nd and Havelock that had been reported stolen Wednesday evening. LPD Captain Duane Winkler tells KLIN News after getting the driver out of the vehicle the passenger tried to run.
“Officers were able to take him into custody after a short struggle and a taser deployment,” Winkler says. The 53-year old man was taken to the hospital and after being medically cleared he was arrested for resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, Winkler said.
The man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. The woman who was behind the wheel was not arrested.
