The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department says an autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning on the body of a man that was found in Salt Creek near 134th and Mill Road Saturday afternoon.  “We are hoping that through this we can determined what happened and get the individual identified so we can notify the family,” Chief Deputy Ben Houchin tells KLIN News.

He says the property owner on a four-wheel vehicle discovered the body, which was down a steep ravine.   Houchin says the Hickman Rural Volunteer Fire Department played a major role in recovering the body.

“They supplied dry suits for everyone to go into the water.  They brought a rescue cage and that assisted us a lot and a winch that helped everybody pulling up the cage,” Houchin says.  The sheriff’s department has some leads they are following and they are collecting evidence.

Houchin did confirm the body is not that of 35-year-old Tyler Goodrich of Lincoln, who has been missing since November.
