Nebraska Falls to Iowa in Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament Finals

By Kaleb Henry Mar 10, 2024 | 2:14 PM

The magical run for Nebraska women’s basketball needed just one more shot to go in at the end of regulation, but it missed the mark.

The No. 5 seed Huskers (22-11) fell to the No. 2 seed Iowa 94-89 in overtime Sunday afternoon. The title is the third consecutive for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Nebraska had a shot to win the game in regulation, but Logan Nissley’s attempt failed. In overtime, Iowa outscored Nebraska 17-12.

Held to just four points in the first half, likely National Player of the Year Hawkeye Caitlin Clark scored 30 points after halftime in her final Big Ten Tournament game.

Alexis Markowski led four Huskers in double figures, scoring 23 points and adding 13 rebounds.

Nebraska now awaits their seed and destination in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament with the selection show next Sunday.
