Progress continues to be made in the effort to bring a convention center to downtown Lincoln.  Lancaster County’s committee tasked with developing a convention center has  announced that four architectural teams have responded to the Request for Proposals sought by Assemble Lincoln.

Those RFP’s for conceptual design services were issued on February 8.  Assemble Lincoln received four responses from four firms interested in the development by the March 1 deadline. The four teams are:

• HDR-LMN-Olsson
• BVH-TVS
• Populous-Clark & Enersen
• Fentress-Sinclair Hille

During Assemble Lincoln’s meeting on March 7 a motion was made and approved on a unanimous vote to engage with the four architectural teams and begin a deeper analysis of their proposals.
“The world-class caliber of the design respondents speaks to the clear demand for a Lincoln Convention Center,” says Senator Eliot Bostar, chair of the Assemble Lincoln committee.

“I’m proud that this project represents an opportunity that both national firms and the very best local leaders in architecture and design are seeking to join.”  Assemble Lincoln and Legends remain committed to engaging with the public throughout the process of designing, building and completing Lincoln’s Downtown Convention Center.
