Former Nebraska State Senator Adam Morfeld took to social media on Thursday to say someone has been identified for a swatting incident at his home on Christmas Day. “A big thank you to the U.S. Secret Service who apprehended the individuals who swatted us on Christmas, and for the great work of Lincoln Police who diligently stayed on the case and worked with them, Morfeld stated.
“There are consequences for these kinds of crimes.” Morfeld was also the victim of a swatting call in February. LPD says swatting calls are placed from an internet-based number and report a false crime or threat with the goal of drawing a police presence.
Morfeld says as the snow fell on Christmas Day someone called 911 claiming he was going to kill himself. Morfeld tells 1011 Now he learned from an LPD investigator that the U.S. Secret Service arrested two people suspected of doing it. Morfeld says the investigator told him the suspects were foreign nationals.
