Dogs at the Capital Humane Society
Lincoln’s Capital Humane Society is near full capacity for dogs right now, and hopes are a special adoption promotion can help reduce the overspill of pups.
Today through Sunday, Feb. 15th – Feb. 18th, the Capital Humane Society will be reducing adoption fees for dogs 5 months and older by 50%. License and rabies deposit fees may apply.
To utilize the promotion, visit or contact the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center located on 6500 S. 70 Street. Hours are: Tuesday-Friday – 11:30am-7:00pm / Saturday-Sunday – 12:00pm-5:00pm.
Animal shelter overcrowding negatively impacts the facilities operations, as resources must be stretched between more and more pets… here are ways our community can help:
- Consider adopting a new canine companion during the adoption promotion.
- If you are unable to adopt, help spread the word to friends and family members who may be interested in adopting a new canine companion.
- Sign up to be a foster parent on the Capital Humane Society website.
