Thousands of LPS employees will be getting a raise after the Board of Education approved a new agreement with the local teachers union Tuesday night. The agreement provides a total compensation package increase of 4.5 percent for the 2024-25 school year with the base salary increasing from $47,356 to $48,556.
The salary schedule was revised from 40 steps to 25 and the district also assumed a 1.99% health insurance cost increase.
The agreement covers approximately 3,700 LPS employees, including teachers, librarians, nurses, social workers, counselors, school psychologists, speech language pathologists and early childhood and home-based teachers.
