A handwritten letter anonymously delivered to the Lancaster County Sheriffs Office (LSO) regarding 35-year-old Tyler Goodrich, who’s been missing for over 3 month, has proved to be a dead end.

LSO received the letter from Crime Stoppers in late December, with no return address. In later January, Captain John Vik encouraged the sender to contact Crime Stoppers so law enforcement could speak with them over the phone or via the online tip program.

Vik indicated that the paper letter may not reveal an additional information.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin confirmed Monday, Feb. 12th, investigators were able to get in contact with the sender who admitted the contents of letter were the subject of a “vision.”

“The letter was specific, but it was from a vision that she had. She did not have any proof of the vision to help us locate Tyler Goodrich,” said Houchin.

The story laid out in the vision was plausible enough to investigate, according to Houchin, “He was running and got hit by a drunk driver, which is a possible thing, and we have thought about that. In her vision, the driver panicked and hit him. But again, we have nothing to show any of that is what happened,” he said.

Goodrich was reported missing by his husband following an argument on November 3rd, 2023. He was last seen on video surveillance jogging from his home.

Anyone who has a tip or any information regarding Goodrich’s disappearance is asked to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000, or anonymously though Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600 or lincolncrimestoppers.com.

“As you can imagine, we are doing everything possible to try to locate him,” Houchin concluded, “and even though this did not lead to anything, I’m glad the investigators were able to find the individual and determine what she knew.”
