The search is on for the man who vandalized a statue at the Catholic Social Services building in Lincoln. Spokesman John Soukup says an employee found the five-foot resin statue upside down in a dumpster Thursday morning.
“Surveillance video shows it happened at 6:30 Wednesday evening,” Soukup says. “Someone came up and pulled the statue off of it’s pedestal and carried to the trash bin.” He says the was attached to the platform with cement adhesive.
Soukup tells KLIN News the damage to the statue is mostly cosmetic and they hope to have it back up soon. Lincoln Police are now investigating and anyone with information is asked to give them a call at 402-441-6000.
