Lincoln Police were called to the UPS Store near 27th and Superior around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package. “An employee reported a man entered the store and dropped off a package addressed to the White House,” says Captain Todd Kocian.  The man told the employee the box contained plush toys.

Kocian says the employee saw religious words and ‘no airmail’ written on the package. “After observing the man return to the store several times and look through the window she called authorities.”

Out of an abundance of caution Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded and ultimately determined the package contained toys and religious literature. Police contacted the 49-year-old man who verified these items were in the package. No citations were issued.
