A Nebraska State Patrol trooper was one of three people injured in a crash near Highway 77 and Van Dorn around 12:30 Wednesday morning. Patrol Spokesman Cody Thomas says the trooper was responding to a call to assist Lincoln Police on a call.
Thomas says the patrol unit was northbound with the lights and sirens activated when it hit ice on the roadway and lost control. The cruiser rear ended a Chevrolet Malibu and crossed the median where it collided with a southbound Chrysler Pacifica.
All three drivers were transported to the hospital where they were treated and released. Lincoln Police will be conducting the investigation.
