Nebraska women’s basketball couldn’t put together a full 40 minutes in Iowa City Saturday.
The Huskers fell to No. 5 Iowa (19-2, 8-1 Big Ten) 92-73 in front of 14,998 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The loss drops NU to 13-7 on the year and 5-4 in the league.
Nebraska led by four points late in the second quarter, but a 9-0 run before halftime gave the Hawkeyes a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Iowa took advantage of 20 Husker turnovers to grab extra possessions on the afternoon.
NU shot 39% for the game, including 10-of-29 from 3. Iowa shot 52.5%, making 12-of-29 3s.
Jaz Shelley led the way for Nebraska with 19 points. Alexis Markowski added a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
National Player of the Year frontrunner Caitlin Clark put in 38 points with 10 rebounds and six assists.
Nebraska returns home to host Purdue on Wednesday.
