A Lincoln man is recovering after being stabbed Tuesday morning. Captain Todd Kocian says officers were called to Northwest 51st and West Loring just before 9:00 a.m. He says a woman told police she was driving the 36-year-old victim to the hospital.
The victim told officers he got into a fight with 28-year-old Mathew Bliss and was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Officers found Bliss at his house and arrested without incident.
Kocian says Bliss was in possession of a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue. While being booked at the jail Kocian says Bliss spit on and headbutted a corrections officer. Bliss was booked for 1st degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, assault on an officer and possession of a controlled substance.
