Residents in a neighborhood south of 49th and Old Cheney called Lincoln Police around 12:30 Saturday afternoon after seeing someone with a gun. “Officers contacted two witnesses who reported seeing several people outside a residence across the street,” says Captain Todd Kocian.
“They then heard two loud bangs they thought could either be fireworks or gunshots and saw an individual holding an automatic-style rifle and a laser shining.” Kocian says the witnesses then heard two-to-three more bangs.
“Responding officers contacted several individuals from a nearby residence and determined the weapon was a bb-gun,” Kocian says. Officers also found two-to-three 9mm shell casings near the residence but no damage was located.
19-year-old Camden Miller of Lincoln was arrested for Maintaining a Disorderly House and Disturbing the Peace.
