A weak weather system could bring some scattered snow to the Lincoln area Wednesday afternoon but accumulations are expected to be light.  This system will be followed Thursday by a more robust low pressure system that will move out of the Rockies and bring a much better chance of accumulating snow to the area Thursday afternoon through Friday.

A Winter Storm Watch for Southeast Nebraska, including Lincoln and Omaha, will go into effect at 3 pm Thursday and continue through 6 pm Friday.  The latest forecast for Lincoln shows a 79% chance of 4 or more inches of snow by Friday.  Winds will also pickup and gust as high as 35 mph causing blowing and drifting as well as reduced visibilty.
