Downtown Lincoln’s ‘Railyard Rink’ Returns after Hiatus

A Lincoln favorite winter attraction is making its return for the first time since the pandemic.

Presented by the Lincoln Stars, the “Railyard Rink” is downtown’s seasonal outdoor ice skating rink that takes over the Haymarket district’s famed courtyard located across the street from the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The rink is built and operated by WRK Real Estate, Gate 25 and Mellow Mushroom. Lincoln Star’s players, coaches and staff members will make appearances over the winter season.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy ice skating in the beautiful Haymarket. The Stars are excited to be a presenting partner of this,” said Sal Miliotto, Stars Vice President of Sales.

Skaters are welcome to bring their own skates, or rental skates are available for all skaters, pricing is:

  • Adults with rental skates – $15. No rental skates – $13
  • Child with rental skates – $10. No rental skates – $8

Hours of operation:

  • Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: Closed
  • Thursday: 4pm-10pm
  • Friday: 11am-10pm (when school’s are out of session); 4pm-10pm. (when schools are in session).
  • Saturday: 11am-10pm
  • Sunday: 11am-10pm

After skating, visitors can bring their wristbands to a Stars game and redeem for a $10 ticket. Stars fans can also bring a Lincoln Stars ticket to the Railyard Rink and receive $5 off the skating charge.

“It’s always been really popular. It stopped because of COVID but we’re getting back up to going again. It’s off to a really good start, and that’s great for downtown and good for the railyard,” said President of the Downtown Lincoln Association Todd Ogden, “It’ll be a great date opportunity, have some food downtown, get on the ice rink, and go out for a drink after; you can have a full evening celebrating the new-year in downtown.”
