Lincoln Police and LFR crews were called to Bowling Lake Park on NW 44th Street in Lincoln around 5:15 Saturday morning.

LPD says a man called the Lincoln Emergency Communications Center and reported he had driven his car into the lake. When they arrived, emergency personnel found vehicle tracks leading into the lake on the southeast side and a layer of ice broken.
Divers with LFR found the car fully submerged but no one inside. Nebraska Game & Parks officers assisted the LFR dive team in a second search and eventually found a man in the lake around 11:40 am.
LPD said in a statement the man is believed to be the same person who placed the initial call and he has been preliminarily identified. Officials are not releasing his identity pending notification of family members.
