A 28-foot wide nativity scene opened Thursday at Cristo Rey Parish in Lincoln.   Builders and other volunteers took a week to construct it.  It depicts not only Bethlehem, but also scenes from Nazareth, Egypt and the Jerusalem Temple.

The nativity scene has been hosted at Cristo Rey each year since 2004.   Donations received this year will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Lincoln.  The nativity is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Jan. 7, except Wednesdays.

Cristo Rey Church is located near 42nd and J Street.  The church serves Hispanic Catholics in the area.
