The 2023 calendar was not kind to Nebraska women’s basketball in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Huskers fell to KU Wednesday 69-52. The loss was the second during 2023, as the Jayhawks were victorious in a WNIT battle back in March.
Despite grabbing 19 offensive rebounds and turning those into eight more shots, Nebraska failed to convert on the offensive end, shooting a paltry 28.6 percent for the game. Kansas made 43.6 percent of their shots.
Alexis Markowski posted a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. No other Husker scored more than six points or grabbed more than four rebounds.
Nebraska is off for a week and a half before returning to Pinnacle Bank Arena for a New Year’s Eve battle against Maryland.
