You can double your generosity tomorrow with a cash donation in the nearest Salvation Army red kettle.
The Salvation Army has announced, thanks to a group of generous donors, all $20 bills dropped into the red kettles Saturday, December 16th, will be matched, up to $15,000.
“The Salvation Army has currently raised 53% of our 2023 Tree of Lights Campaign goal of $670,000,” Captain Kelsie Moreno told KLIN News, offering a donation even more impactful than a $20 donation, “We would love as many volunteer bell ringers this Saturday as possible. Its an absolutely fantastic way to help make sure that we’re able to raise the entire $15,000 match.”
Requests for assistance is up this year, with The Salvation Army serving 120 more families at Thanksgiving than last year, and there more than 2300 children are registered for toys this year.
