By Kaleb Henry Dec 14, 2023 | 8:54 AM

Nebraska volleyball plays in its 17th national semifinal Thursday evening.

None of the teams joining the Huskers in the Final Four are strangers. NU has played the other three teams 105 times in the past.

Below is Nebraska’s history against the other three teams in the 2023 Final Four.

No. 4 Pittsburgh (29-4, 16-2 ACC)

Nebraska is 13-0 all-time against Pitt. The teams last met in the NCAA Semifinals in Columbus, Ohio on Dec. 16, 2021, with NU coming out on top 3-1.

No. 3 Wisconsin (30-3, 17-3 Big Ten)

Nebraska and Wisconsin could meet in the championship Sunday, a place they’ve met twice before. The last postseason meeting between the Huskers and Badgers came in the 2021 title. The teams played twice this season: a five set Nebraska win in Lincoln and a Wisconsin sweep in Madison. NU is 20-14-1 all-time against UW.

No. 5 Texas (26-4, 17-1 Big 12)

Nebraska and Texas could meet in the championship Sunday, which would be the matchup as two of Nebraska’s previous titles: 1995, 2005. The Huskers are 33-24 against the Longhorns, including a 2021 regional final win in Austin. Key players in that 2021 victory: Lexi Rodriguez, Ally Batenhorst, and Lindsay Krause.

The Final Four begins tonight with Nebraska and Pitt at 6 p.m. CST followed by Texas-Wisconsin. The matches will be broadcast on ESPN, with the Husker match also being carried on the Huskers Radio Network, including 1400 AM and 99.3 FM KLIN in Lincoln.
