Lincoln Police have arrested a man following a stabbing early Monday morning near 20th and Washington. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers were called to the home around 3:45 a.m.

“Officers contacted the 27-year-old victim who had lacerations to his left leg, groin area and right arm,” Thomas says.  “A tourniquet was applied by one of the officers and the victim was taken to a local hospital and had emergency surgery.”

She says the victim reported he was stabbed by 23-year-old Argenis Colina of Lincoln following an argument over text messages the victim reportedly had sent to Colina’s wife.  Several hours later  officers contacted Colina near 19th & Garfield.

He was arrested for first degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
