Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews battled a house fire in an Air Park neighborhood Tuesday night. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the fire at 1940 NW 46th Street started in the garage around 6:00 p.m. and spread to the attic.
“Heavy smoke and fire was coming from the entire garage when they arrived.” She says the three residents and their two dogs safely got out of the house and called 911. She says the cause of the fire was gasoline that ignited when someone was working on an ATV.
It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. The Red Cross was called to assist the residents and no injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $120,000 to the home and $10,000 to the contents of the garage.
