Lincoln Police arrested a man after a clerk at the U-Stop near 13th and South Street was assaulted just after 10:00 Wednesday night. “The 58-year-old employee reported an individual entered the store and asked to use the phone,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
She says after using the phone 31-year-old Khalil Ross went to the back of the store and began drinking a beer from the cooler. “The employee said he confronted Ross and that’s when Ross punched him several times. He attempted to call 911 but Ross took his cell phone and left the store,” Thomas says.
Officers found Ross a few minutes later near Bryan West Hospital and took him into custody. Ross was arrested for robbery. The employee suffered injuries to his face and head and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
