Two people from Lincoln, 27-year-old Lezter Juarez, and a passenger, 25-year-old Janice Arriaga-Martinez were killed in a three-vehicle accident near North Platte Friday afternoon.
According to a Nebraska State Patrol news release at about 2:10 pm Friday, the westbound vehicle Juarez was driving lost control, crossed the median, and struck an eastbound Honda SUV and a semi-truck. Both were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Four occupants of the Honda SUV were transported to Great Plains Health in North Platte with serious injuries and three have since been transferred to UNMC. The semi-driver was not injured.
