Nebraska women’s basketball came up just short in the title game of the St. Pete Showcase Saturday.
TCU held on for the 88-81 win. NU slipped to 4-2 with the loss to the undefeated Horned Frogs.
Nebraska trailed by 21 in the third quarter but cut the deficit to just four points with 37.1 seconds left in the game. TCU made their free throws to seal the holiday tournament championship.
Jaz Shelley notched 16 points to lead the Huskers. Alexis Markowski added a double-double effort with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Nebraska returns home to host Florida Atlantic Wednesday.
