Fire heavily damaged a house near 2nd and E Street around 9:30 Tuesday morning. “When the crews got here they found flames coming from the back of the home,” says Public Information Officer MJ Lierman. “It appears to have started in the kitchen and spread into the attic space.”
She says the resident was at work and the kids were at school. A neighbor saw the flames and called 911. Lierman says one cat died in the fire and a second one was rescued. The cause is not yet known.
