Lincoln Police arrested a 42-year-old woman who they say tried to rob another woman outside her apartment complex Monday morning.  Captain Todd Kocian says officers were called to 44th and ‘R’ around 7:00 a.m.

“The 22-year-old victim reported she was leaving her apartment and had just gotten into her vehicle when 42-year-old Monica Salazar approached.  She rolled down her window and Salazar asked for money.”   Kocian says the victim told her no and Salazar told her she had a gun and demanded her money.

“She never saw a gun, but said Salazar had her hand in her pocket. As she rolled up her window and started to leave, she said Salazar got in front of her vehicle and continued to say she had a gun and demanded her money.”

The victim drove away and went to a business near 48th and Vine streets and called the police.  Officers found Salazar near 44th & ‘R’ and arrested her for attempted robbery.
