The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department provided an update Wednesday morning in a deadly shooting inside a house near NW 98th and West Adams Streets on November 3. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says 62-year-old Robert and his 62-year-old wife Joann Boshart died of gunshot wounds to the head.

“A .22 caliber revolver was located on the bed,” Houchin says. “The weapon has been sent to the lab for DNA testing to determine if that was the weapon used.”  Houchin confirms that revolver was the only gun found in the home and home security video shows the Boshart’s were the only ones in the house at the time.

“We are still working on shot angles to help determine what occurred in the bedroom.  Until all investigative steps are completed, the sheriff’s office will not be making a statement on the sequence of events that occurred.”

LSO says Joann Boshart’s sister called for a welfare check that day after she didn’t show up to for her school bus driving job at Malcom Public Schools.
