A man was injured after his vehicle went off the road and rolled down an embankment into Deadman’s Run Tuesday morning.  LFR Public Information officer MJ Lierman says they were called to the creek near 29th and Cornhusker around 8:00.

“And found a gentleman who had swerved off the road avoiding a deer.  He was heard by some of the surrounding business people, there were calls for help.” Lierman says the man was talking to rescuers as they brought him up the embankment in a basket.

The man says he hit a guardrail after swerving, lost control and rolled down into the water.  Lierman says the man believes he had been trapped in his upside down vehicle for about six hours.  The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
