Nebraska men’s basketball opened their 128th season with a victory Monday night.

The Huskers rolled Lindenwood 84-52. NU is now 87-41 all-time in season-openers.

The Lions struck with the first basket of the game, but Big Red answered with a 9-0 run. After some back and forth, Nebraska pulled away on a 17-2 run. The game was never in doubt from there.

Nebraska shot 48.2 percent from the field and made 11-of-30 3s. Lindenwood managed 32.4 percent shooting with a 3-of-16 from 3 clip.

Of Nebraska’s 27 baskets, 19 came off of assists.

A dozen Huskers saw the floor, with 10 of them scoring. Sam Hoiberg led the way with 15 points, followed by 13 points for each of CJ Wilcher, Brice Williams, and Rienk Mast.

Lincoln native Josiah Allick posted 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds in his first game as a Husker.

Several Huskers were unavailable for the contest: Juwan Gary (suspension), Blaise Keita (ankle), Ramel Lloyd Jr. (knee), Keisei Tominaga (ankle), and Ahron Ulis (eligibility).

Nebraska stays home Thursday to host Florida A&M.
