No. 1 Nebraska Fends Off No. 16 Penn State in Five Sets

Nebraska volleyball is still unbeaten.

No. 16 Penn State pushed the No. 1 Huskers to five sets, but ultimately NU emerged with a 3-2 victory. The Nittany Lions won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-23 before Nebraska rolled off the final three sets 25-18, 25-20, and 15-13.

NU improved to 22-0 on the season and 13-0 in the Big Ten.

Nebraska’s defense wasn’t as tight as usual, especially during the first two sets. Penn State managed to hit .298 on the match, outpacing Big Red who hit .288.

Merritt Beason had a match-high 27 kills on .426 hitting. Harper Murray (15) and Bekka Allick (11) also reached double-figure kills.

Bergen Reilly handed out 52 assists.

Nebraska stays on the east coast to take on Rutgers Sunday.
