A Lincoln man wanted on two warrants put up a fight when members of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Fugitive Task Force went to his home Wednesday morning. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says the task force arrived at 29-year-old Vu Huynh’s home near NW 4th and Belmont around 10:00 a.m.
“One U.S. Marshal and one investigator from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office grab him and he begins to struggle with them in an attempt to escape.” Houchin says a second LSO investigator came to assist and they all went to the ground.
During the fight one of the officers used a Taser to subdue Huynh and he was taken into custody. Houchin says investigators found 0.7 grams of methamphetamine on him. He was taken to jail and booked for assault on an officer, obstruction, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. He was also booked on the two warrants.
The three officers involved in the altercation suffered a variety of injuries which are all minor. “Thankfully nobody got seriously hurt,” Houchin says. “The deployment of the Taser probably helped people from actually really getting hurt because the longer you fight with somebody the more likely you are to get injured.”
