If you’re looking to get an early start on Halloween, the Lancaster Event Center will host the annual Trunk-or-Treat event Tuesday night. LPD Sergeant Jennifer Glantz tells KLIN News they began the event seven years ago.
“As a way to safely trick-or-treat without going door-to-door and crossing streets,” Glantz says. “We thought it would be a safe way for kids and their families to interact with police in a fun environment.”
Glantz says LPD will be joined by LFR, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, UNL Police and Animal Control. Their vehicles will be decorated and they will have candy in the e trunks for kids. Glantz encourages kids to wear costumes and to bring backs or buckets to collect the goodies
The free event runs from 4-8 p.m.
