A packed week for Husker students, with a special university birthday headlining UNL’s 2023 Homecoming week.
Homecoming week for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln runs Oct. 23-28 and will carry the theme “Through These Gates: 100 Years of Saturdays at Memorial Stadium.”
“No greater purpose than to celebrate our university, all of its fans, and friends. This year, we’re celebrating 100 years of Memorial Stadium and organizing various homecoming events,” said Grace Puccio of the Nebraska Alumni Association, the organization responsible for the weeks itinerary. Over a dozen events are planned, Puccio offered KLIN News just a few, “Free roasted corn, free kettle corn, live music, carnival games, a Ferris-wheel, food trucks and much, much more.”
The week’s activities open with a Memorial Stadium birthday party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 23 at the stadium. The free public event will feature a cake and birthday wishes from campus leaders, and visitors can walk onto the field.
