Vandal Smashing Business Windows Arrested by Lincoln Police

By Chase Porter Oct 4, 2023 | 2:23 PM

The windows of two Lincoln businesses were allegedly shattered by a man wielding a baseball bat Monday night.

The owner of Constellation Studios located at 2055 ‘O’ Street contacted Lincoln Police at approximately 10:21 p.m., saying she  heard a loud ‘bang’ before witnessing one of the glass windows to the business being shattered.

Captain Todd Kocian says upon reviewing security camera footage, the suspect was identified as 21-year-old Preston Breneman, who could be seen using a baseball bat to break the window of the central Lincoln studio. However the vandalism spree did not end there, as officers soon discovered another broken window at the nearby O Street Barbershop.

Law enforcement was able to quickly locate Breneman nearby the area by 10:55 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident, and Breneman was subsequently lodged in jail on two counts of Criminal Mischief.

The total estimated damage to the windows of the affected businesses amounts to $1,600.
