A man is in jail following a Lincoln Police investigation into a crash last week that hospitalized four people and destroyed a Lincoln business.

On Tuesday, September 26, authorities arrested 19-year-old Justin Enfield for his involvement in the September 19th collision that occurred at the intersection of 27th and Vine Street. LPD says after attempting to stop the pickup driven by Enfield for speeding near 27th and Nebraska Parkway, a pursuit was called off to minimize risks to the public. The pickup continued northbound, ran a red light, collided with another vehicle in the intersection of 27th and Vine Street, and continued to crash through the entrance of the Kohlls Pharmacy located on the corner, ejecting Enfield and the two other passengers.

The three 19-year-old males ejected from the pick up were transported to a Lincoln hospital in critical but stable condition, and the 20-year-old woman struck in the intersection was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The intersection remained closed for several hours.

Enfield has now been taken into custody and facing two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury and one count of fleeing in a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.

Legal proceedings will follow as the investigation continues.
