A security guard at Barry’s Bar in downtown Lincoln is accused of pepper-spraying a man and woman late Saturday night. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the 35-year-old man claimed he lost his wallet there the night before and came to talk with someone about getting it back.
Vollmer says the man and woman were denied entry into the bar due to their level of intoxication. “The female was attempting to get the male to leave and he made a derogatory comment to the security guard.”
Vollmer says the security guard responded by pepper-spraying them and pushing the woman to the sidewalk. The 25-year-old security guard was cited & released for two counts of 3rd degree assault. The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.
