The streets of Northeast Lincoln will come to life this weekend for a festival of people literally playing in the streets.
Streets Alive! is a free annual event organized by the Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln that promotes active living and healthy nutrition with a cordoned multi-block celebration featuring outdoor activities, live music, food trucks, and more.
2023’s healthy living festival is scheduled for this Sunday, September 24 hosted by the University Place neighborhood, from 1 – 4:30 PM.
The Streets Alive! festival moves to a different neighborhood every two years. Showcasing a different host neighborhood with a roughly 2-mile traffic free festival route which exhibits includes parks, walking and biking trails, community gardens, and other areas of interest. Streets Alive! makes health, wellness, and fitness resources easily accessible to the host neighborhood and the thousands of visitors from across the city who attend each year.
Multiple streets in the University Place neighborhood will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 24, and travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route during this event. Access to residences will be maintained.
