Great news for Husker fans planning to pack the stands of Memorial Stadium this Saturday for the first home game of the season.
“It’ll definitely be a pleasant fall Saturday for a college football game,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Paul Fajman told KLIN News, “By time people start getting set up for the afternoon. We’re looking at high temperature of about 80 for Lincoln.”
A cold front is likely to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms into the Lincoln area, but Fajman says this should clear up by late Friday night/early Saturday morning.
“We’re expecting the heaviest of that activity to be on Friday. It’s going to be a slow moving front, so we could see that linger into the early morning hours of Saturday. But by time we get to the daylight hours, that precipitation should be out of the area,” said Fajman, “And by time we get to kickoff, we should have pretty clear skies.
As for the rest of the weekend, Fajman said “Once we get this precipitation through on Friday, the rest of the weekend should be pretty clear.” Indicating pleasant travels for Nebraskan’s coming to and from Lincoln this weekend.
