Mayor Nominates Lincoln Educator for Planning Commission

By Chase Porter Sep 7, 2023 | 3:48 PM

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird today announced her nomination to fill the vacancy of Commissioner Tracy Corr on the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission, who has served for more than 10 years.

The Mayor has nominated long time Lincoln educator and former district 2 city council candidate Bailey Feit to fill Corr’s seat. This will go to a vote before the Lincoln City Council and Lancaster County Board.

Feit is currently a College Career STEM Focus Program Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Previously, she was a math teacher at North Star High School for nine years, and an adjunct business professor at Southeast Community College. Additionally, Feit serves on the Board of Directors and as the Tastes in the Tallgrass Event Chair for the Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center.

“I look forward to supporting city development and infrastructures that attract young professionals, new businesses, conferences, and keep our city thriving. I will work hard to continue Lincoln’s historic growth while also supporting all the needs in our community,” said Feit.

The Planning Commission is nine-member body responsible for advising the City Council and County Board on planning and development matters.
