The Lincoln Police Department has released their results for a special enforcement project aimed at increasing road safety along “O” Street over the summer.
In the months of May and August, LPD conducted a High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail on “O” Street between 17th and 98th streets. The detail focused on traffic enforcement saturation on nights and weekends to combat the numerous reports of excessive speeds and noise in the area.
Over this time, officers engaged in a total of 662 citations issues and/or arrests. Of that number, 198 included official speeding citations and 141 were for other traffic violations.
Lincoln Police performed 6 arrests for narcotics violations, 14 for outstanding warrants, and 4 DUI arrests.
