Strong business expectations contributed to the 0.89% rise in the July Nebraska Leading Economic Indicator. The indicator is designed to predict economic activity six months into the future and is issued monthly by the UNL Bureau of Business Research.
5 of the individual components were stronger with only airplane passenger numbers easier by 0.13%. Initial Unemployment Claims reversed the trend reported in June with an improvement of 0.21%. Single family home building permits, the dollar exchange rate, manufacturing hours worked and business expectations were also high.
