During Tuesday night’s Lincoln School Board meeting is was announced that Board president Lanny Boswell was recently diagnosed with tongue cancer. Boswell is currently seeking medical treatment and expressed confidence that the treatment plan he is working on with the oncologists will lead to the best possible outcome.
“While my speech has been impacted, I am still able to participate in Board work and communicate using voice assistance technology,” Boswell said in a statement. “Just like some of our students we serve at Lincoln Public School, I too am learning how to use the tools available to help me communicate.”
Boswell says he looks forward to resuming his full duties as Board chair as he becomes more comfortable with this technology. “I appreciate the support of my board colleagues, district leadership, family, and friends during this difficult time.”
