
Today, Governor Jim Pillen, announced that all U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff immediately to honor the victims of the deadly wildfires in Maui, Hawaii.
Flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Friday, August 18, 2023.
Tuesday’s death toll in Maui climbed to 106, with rescue crews having searched about 1/3 of the disaster area. This has been the deadliest wildfire in over 100 years, with 2,200 structures destroyed/damaged, and counting.
